Stylecraft Special DK in Lobelia
Polyester toy filling
Pins to place pieces before sewing together
Darning needle
Stitch markers (I prefer using scrap yarn as “stitch markers”)
Fibres in Black, White and Pink for needle felting*
Needle felting tool*
* Please note that I have used needle felting to create Koffing’s skull, eyes and smile. Needle felting is still quite new to me so I will not be including instructions on how to do this. You may want to look into alternative ways of creating these features.

Koffing is approximately 9cm tall, and 9cm in width.Weight: 50grams (this includes all materials used to make Koffing)

dc double crochet

inc dc 2 in one st
dec decrease; insert hook in the front loop of the next two sts, yarn over, pull through both loops, y.o. and pull through remaining two loops –> one dc placed into two sts
ASSEMBLY
I would recommend using a photo of Koffing as reference for best possible outcome. Pin all the pieces in place before sewing to make sure it looks right, plan the placement of the facial features before sewing pieces in place to ensure you have enough space.

Fasten off. Weave in loose end by inserting darning needle in the front loop of each st and pull tight to close the hole.
GAS/SMOKE VENTS
Yarn: Lobelia
Make 14 (or as many as you like)
Round 1: dc 5 in Magic Ring (5)
R2: inc in all sts around (10)
R3-6: dc 10
Fasten of and leave a long end to sew the piece onto body. Use the back of your crochet hook to push the tip into the middle of the piece.
FACE & SKULL
I’ve used fibres in white, black and pink to needlefelt the skull, eyes, smile and fangs.I googled an image of Koffing’s skull and traced it onto tracing paper, ensuring it was the right size to fit the amigurumi. I cut this out and used it as a stencil. I used white fibre to needlefelt the skull.
