Diglett Amigurumi Pattern
It’s been over a year since I finished making Diglett and it’s finally time to share the pattern with you.
I wanted to create a Diglett for the longest time, and my mind was always thinking of how I could create the rocky edging. I ended up with a mix of puff stitches and treble clusters, and I’m really pleased with the outcome. I start off the edging with a couple of rounds of a darker grey (Graphite). I was sort of hoping it would create some dimension with the rocks made in a lighter tone (Grey), but I don’t think that comes through. So feel free to just stick with one colour here.
I also really want to make another Diglett and add some wire to the bottom edge to see if I can make that stretch out a bit and look a bit wider. Because once you sew the base on it reduces the width a bit. But I will have to come back to that some other time. Maybe for an Alola version… Or even the one that appeared with a bowler hat in Pokemon Go. How cute would that be?
And wouldn’t it be fun to make a Dugtrio?! That would require a bit more thinking on my part when it comes to the base of the amigurumi. So probably I will put off for now. I am still trying to catch up with myself, as I have so many other amigurumi patterns still to share with you - including Diglett of course.
The pattern consists of two YouTube tutorials:
Part 1: Head & Rocky Edge (Sun, 31 March at 17:00BST)
Part 2: Base & Nose (Sun, 7 April at 17:00BST)
Once all the tutorials are published on YouTube, I will be posting the written pattern underneath each section of this post.
I hope you enjoy making one for yourself. Please don’t forget to subscribe & like etc over on my channel - any support is really, really appreciated!
